Rubis Superyacht Bunkering
Rubis Superyacht Bunkering provide fuel and servicing to superyachts stopping off in the Channel Islands. Based in Jersey, it’s part of a broader network of superyacht bunkering sites, both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Rubis Superyacht Bunkering wanted a complete redesign of their website, to communicate their service offering more clearly. The superyacht service is owned by Rubis, a biofuel supplier, and whilst the two companies have different propositions and are targeted at different audiences, their channels were often grouped together. Rubis wanted the superyacht bunkering division to have its own distinct brand language and identity. Rubis stipulated that, while Rubis Superyacht Bunkering should feel distinct from the Rubis brand, the logo should still have a resemblance to the parent brand. The Rubis Group logo is a globe, with a banner running around its circumference.

Superyacht owners have a shared passion for technology; they value cutting edge products, and are likely to be early adopters – considering excellence and innovation as worthy investment. Owning and travelling by yacht is a bit like having your own personal state – you enjoy the freedom and autonomy. Rubis meets this desire for freedom, by providing a matrix of services for Atlantic crossings, where both the service and products are reassuringly high quality – it’s this consistency of service which puts the customer back in control. I wanted the brand and the website to speak to this love of innovation and personal autonomy. I worked up an adapted version of the Rubis ‘globe’ marque with clean lines to emphasise a practicality and reliability to the brand, as well as a love of science and innovation. Scaled up, the marque's sweeping lines give a lux feel, while referencing Rubis' international reach.
